Preparing Yourself To Ask Someone For A Date

Asking someone on a date can be an experience which will bring on the hives. But how will you know if he or she likes you unless you ask? Asking for a date means you need to be prepared for rejection. But if you are well prepared, most often you will not be rejected.

Making the Move

Ok, so you have been standing there gazing at her or him for a while now. Isn’t it time you made your move? But wait, before you do, can you tell that he or she likes you? Before you do anything, you need to know in order to not embarrass yourself. If you look out for their actions and body language, you can surmise if a person likes you and if asked for a date, if that person will accept or not.

Looking Good

Looking good before asking a person out on a date makes a significant difference. You should always make sure that you are dressed well and do not reek of cheap perfume or sweat. When you look good it is difficult for that person to turn you down.

The Right Time

Timing is everything when you ask someone on a date. Making sure that there are no friends or hangers on around, making sure that the person asked is not distracted or troubled in any way will be the right time to ask for a date. Take a deep breath and walk towards this person.

Be Confident

When you walk up to this person, you should always look confident. You should be able to portray a picture of confidence despite the fact that you are quaking in your shoes. You are not going to get a positive reply if you walk up to the person sweating buckets and mumbling to yourself. Keep repeating in your head, that it’s only a date, not a proposal of marriage. The least that can happen is for the person to say no.

What to Ask

Simply going up to this person and asking, “Shall we go out?” is not going to work. You need to first build a rapport with this person and then ask for the date. Make the question as simple as possible. Don’t expect a drum roll. Be clear, show that you like this person and ask for the date.

Two things would have happened once you asked the person out. They could have either said yes or no. If the answer is a yes, proceed to the next step which is to plan the date. If the answer is no, shrug your shoulders and walk away. Being prepared will make it easier for you when asking someone on a date.
